INSPIRED BY TRICKS FROM THEIR FALL RUNWAYS (AND THE LYRICS OF THIS WEEK'S TOP 40 SONGS WE'RE ALL PLAYING ON REPEAT),
THREE TOP DESIGNERS STYLE YOUR THANKSGIVING LOOK JUST BY MIXING UNEXPECTED PIECES IN YOUR CLOSET

LOOK 1 BY REBECCA TAYLOR (with DRAKE'S "HOTLINE BLING" BLASTING IN THE BACKGROUND)

THE UNEXPECTED COMBO:  METALLIC + PRINT

A metallic piece = instantly festive.  While your inclination may be to style it back to black, pairing it with a print gives the look instant style credibility (and is actually very easy to recreate!)  Let's just say when Thursday's hotline blings...you'll be ready.

LOOK 2 BY MIUCCIA PRADA (WITH FETTY WAP'S "TRAP QUEEN" BLARING IN YOUR CLOSET)
THE UNEXPECTED COMBO:  EVERYDAY SWEATER + FANCY EARRINGS

Miuccia Prada (the head designer of Prada and Miu Miu) is the master of mixing casual and dressy pieces in one look.  I agree, sometimes this can look contrived but borrow a trick from the Miu Miu runway and wear a casual sweater + fancy earrings.  Even if your holiday will be "in the kitchen makin' pies with your baby, baby," it's nice to dress up the ordinary clothes you wear everyday with a little sparkle.

LOOK 3 BY JOSEPH ALTUZARRA (STYLING TO ELLIE GOULDING'S "ON MY MIND")
THE UNEXPECTED COMBO:  LACE + TWEED

Joseph Altuzarra is one of the most talked about young designers right now.  His fall runway debuted lace and tweed together and every major fashion magazine has this fresh combo on their mind.
