She's ASSAULTS your social media with likes (iN THE BEST WAY POSSIBLE), she's the first one you call on a bad day and IN YOU NEVER WOULD HAVE SAID IT AT 18, BUT IN YOUR ADULT LIFE, there is nothing BETTER THAN THE LUXURY OF SPENDING THE WHOLE WEEKEND WITH YOUR MOM.
MB (Mary Beth), my mom, got her MBA in night school with seven kids (I'm the oldest) under the age of twelve, was a full-time elementary school gym teacher and owned a maternity and kids resale shop. Yes, it was weird/illegal that at twelve years old I opened the store on my own and could predict if a woman was going to have a boy or a girl by how high or low her bump was. When I was younger I really didn't think anything of how she managed it all without the daily breakdowns and required wine dosage that I'm imagining I would require. Now that I'm really contemplating have kids of my own I'm even more in awe of her. They say we only get what we can handle in life but I can't imagine doing one of those things well as a working mom much less doing it all together.
I probably don't tell her enough but she's a light and a rock, not only to me but to so many other people her in life. When my uncle unexpectedly passed away this year leaving behind two young teenage sons, without missing a beat my mom re-opened her newly empty nest and moved them into our tribe. She's that kind of person. The kind of woman you can only hope to be a fraction like as you get older. When I ask her how she did it she says with the quick wit that's taken us through even the most tulmultuous times, "I was crazy at four kids so why stop there?" :) Tell me about your mom ... #MOMSWHOINSPIRE
